Visible Disruption: Starry Moon Biology Achieves Excellence Award at the 14th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition with "Silk" as a Medium
Recently, the final of the 14th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Disruptive Technology Innovation Competition was held grandly in Hangzhou. The competition is hosted by the Torch High tech Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and organized by the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology.

In this national level event of disruptive technological innovation, Xingyue Biotechnology stood out from 891 high-quality projects nationwide with its forward-looking project "Silk Bio based Materials Disrupting Chemical Materials Manufacturing and Implanting Medical Devices". After rigorous selection, it won the Outstanding Project Award in the finals.

This competition focuses on six cutting-edge fields: future materials, future manufacturing, future information, future energy, future space, and future health, aiming to explore and cultivate strategic and forward-looking disruptive technologies. The competition project of Xingyue Biology is based on natural silk protein and is committed to developing a new generation of bio based implantable medical device materials, aiming to overturn the dependence of high-end medical fields on traditional chemical materials. In the closed review stage of the finals, the project received unanimous high recognition from the expert jury for its technological originality, disruptive nature, clear clinical value, and industrialization path. It was ultimately unanimously approved and won with a strong vote.

At the same time, the cutting-edge technological achievements of Star Moon Biology were successfully recommended in physical form and showcased in the competition product exhibition hall. The medical device products and raw materials developed from silk fibroin materials exhibited visually demonstrate the excellent biocompatibility, mechanical properties, and degradation absorption characteristics of the material. These "visible and tangible" exhibits not only vividly illustrate the core concept of "silk biobased materials", but also allow attending experts and industry partners to experience the maturity and application potential of this technology up close, laying a solid foundation for future technological cooperation and market expansion.

Dr. Zhao Hongshi, General Manager of Xingyue Biotechnology, stated that this award is a great encouragement from the country for the team's long-term commitment to original innovation and hard technology research. In the future, the company will accelerate the research and clinical transformation process of silk biobased materials in high-end medical devices such as sports medicine, medical beauty regeneration, and orthopedic repair, striving to realize the industrial and social value of disruptive technologies as soon as possible, and contribute to the leapfrog development of China's biomanufacturing and high-end medical device industry.
