On May 31st, the award ceremony and exchange activities of the China Europe (Zhejiang) Life and Health Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") kicked off at Hangzhou Future Science and Technology City. After multiple rounds of strict screening, Xingyue Biotechnology's "Self Adhesive Joint Cartilage Regeneration Bracket One Step Minimally Invasive Repair of Cartilage" won the third prize of the China Europe (Zhejiang) Life and Health Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (a total of 128 domestic shortlisted projects, 43 finalists, 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 8 third prizes).

The China Europe (Zhejiang) Life and Health Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is a requirement for the construction of a highland for life and health science and technology innovation in Zhejiang Province. It aims to build a high-quality platform for cross-border transfer and transformation of life and health science and technology achievements. The competition focuses on technological innovation in the life and health industry, explores international cooperation and innovation models for the transformation of health and health science and technology in Zhejiang Province, and promotes the innovation and transformation of health and health science and technology achievements.
Award winning projects

Articular cartilage is a complex and specialized structure that primarily serves as a low friction contact surface for joint movement within a certain range, buffering the impact force generated during joint movement, and maintaining joint stability and flexibility. Due to its lack of blood supply and nerve tissue nutrition, its self repair ability after cartilage injury is limited, making it difficult to actively activate repair mechanisms to quickly and effectively repair damaged joint cartilage after onset, and once damaged, it may cause permanent damage.
Based on this characteristic, Xingyue Biotechnology has been dedicated to the research and development of joint cartilage regeneration scaffold products and technologies for more than ten years. The award-winning product of Xingyue Biology, the "Joint Cartilage Regeneration Scaffold," is a double-layer porous biomimetic scaffold prepared from high-purity collagen as raw material and simulating the structure of natural cartilage. It can be implanted through minimally invasive surgery in one step and can firmly adhere to the subchondral bone surface after debridement, achieving transparent cartilage regeneration and repair. At the same time, the scaffold itself is completely degraded and absorbed by human metabolism. This product has currently completed surgical treatment for over 100 patients with cartilage injuries, providing a safe and efficient treatment method for patients with joint cartilage defects.
Introduction of Winners

Ma Nan, graduated from the National Biomedical Materials Engineering Technology Research Center of Sichuan University with a major in biomaterials, currently serves as the R&D Manager of Zhejiang Xingyue Biotechnology Co., Ltd. As a research backbone, participated in the research and development work of national "12th Five Year Plan", "13th Five Year Plan" 863 sub projects, "Vanguard Leading Goose R&D Key Project", "Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology Major Special Project", "Hangzhou Major Science and Technology Innovation Special Project" and other projects, and led the completion of the "Zhejiang Province 2023 Central Foreign Trade Special Fund (Cocoon Silk) Project". I have applied for more than ten invention patents and published multiple papers in international academic journals.
